Hand in hand is a performance that grabs onto cultural meanings of holding hands. It is a walking lecture that accepts that hand holding can be both loving and awkward at the same time.
Dancer Sandrina Lindgren has created a beautiful and tangible performance that includes everything from weddings to demonstration, from folk dance to kindergarten kids walking in line.
As an audience you are guided through the art of holding hands. You will get to see how hand in hand can change the way you see the world and how you are seen in the world.
Your journey is accompanied by accordion player Toni Perttula.
Hand in Hand is a guided tour for everyone who knows that touch is important for humans, but struggles to find ways to put that in practice in everyday life.
After the pandemic, it is time to celebrate the simplicity and complexity of holding hands! Disinfectant is included!

Recommended age 10+. Spectators under 15 years must participate the walk with an adult.

Hand in Hand on englanninkielinen esitys, joka pureutuu kädestä pitämisen kulttuurisiin merkityksiin. Tanssija Sandrina Lindgrenin luoma Hand in Hand on kaunis ja kouriintuntuva esitys, joka sisältää kaikkea päiväkodin parijonosta hääjuhliin, mielenosoituksesta juhannustansseihin.
“Esityksen ensimmäinen pysähdys rentouttaa tunnelman. Se valottaa kädestä pitämisen erilaisia merkityksiä historiallisesti ja kulttuurisidonnaisesti. Yksilöistä tulee ryhmä ja ryhmä antaa suojaa.”

Hand in Hand on kävelymuotoinen luento, joka tiedostaa, että kädestä pitäminen voi olla sekä rakkaudellista, että kiusallista. Esitys on ohjattu kierros kaikille, jotka tietävät kosketuksen olevan tärkeää ihmisen hyvinvoinnille ja pohtivat kuinka kosketusta voisi lisätä arkeen.

“Ryhmässä tuntui yhteys ja kokemus oli erittäin lämmin. Tunsin jopa ylpeyttä siitä, että olin osa tätä ryhmään. Esitys oli myös hauska. Pysähdykset, jotka avasivat erilaisia tapoja pitää kädestä olivat kiinnostavia ja ne avasivat uusia näkökulmia.”
